Brute Force Attack

A method used to attempt to discover the password of a specific login account by systematically trying every possible combination or by using an extensive list of potential passwords. While this approach can be time-consuming due to the vast number of combinations, it becomes more efficient when the attacker steals the password file and runs the cracking process on a fast machine, rather than repeatedly attempting to log into a remote system.

"The security system detected a brute force attack, where the attacker was attempting to guess the password by trying thousands of combinations in rapid succession."
